Eat, Drink & Be Married
I’m Jessica. And I’m Joe Bob. Eight months ago, we became Mr. & Mrs. Smith in the wedding of our dreams highlighting our greatest common passion – food and wine.
Encircled by family and friends, we exchanged vows on a hilltop vineyard overlooking Russian River Valley in the heart of Sonoma wine country.
The celebration continued underground in the Thomas George Estates wine cave where we treated our guests to a 5-course, wine-paired dinner. This banquet was inspired by an unforgettable lunch we’d enjoyed on our first international trip together (food and wine inspired, of course!) to Mendoza, Argentina.
Our first time to Sonoma County had occurred three year earlier when we visited Healdsburg as a newly-dating couple. We fell in love with the scenery, the wine, the food, and, obviously, each other. It was the perfect place to spend the most important day of our lives.
Living in Los Angeles, we took several trips to Sonoma for wedding planning. (Ok, just between you and us, we maybe took a trip or two more than we had to, but it was a good excuse.) During our travels here and abroad, we came to appreciate all the helpful food and wine advice found in various blogs, publications, and rating sites like Yelp. We knew that once we settled into married life we wanted to return the favor and contribute our discoveries to the conversation.
Our blog will be about what we eat, what we drink, what we cook, and what we learn (mistakes and all!) along the way. We share a lot of the same likes and dislikes, but we have our own unique tastes too. Sometimes we’ll post together and other times individually. We hope you’ll join us for the journey.
